Quest Story: The Blackmail Tale

These villains claim that no anti-virus exists, but somehow I don't quite believe that. They've given us 7 days to think it over, before they make good on their threat. I say we call their bluff.

Hint: You can progress down both paths at once. The top path will earn you the SpecOps Barracuda and the bottom, the SpecOps Nuclear Sub Carrier!

Quest Hook: Blackmailing extremists and the threat of a possible nation-wide contamination are on the menu today. Your people need you.

Quest Pop-up: Extremists threatening to release a deadly virus into our water supply are demanding that we release some of our most dangerous political prisoners. I don't know what's worse, a contaminated nation or dangerous people on the loose.



1 - Treachery Triumphs


We've sent in one of our agents disguised as a disgruntled political activist. He arrived at the enemy camp gates asking if he can join their group.

  • Get {total} False Moustaches to help with your disguise.
  • Collect {total} times from houses. Every operation needs funding.
  • Earn {total} Red Hearts to earn the support you might need.

Not being the brightest bobs in the world, the extremists welcomed him with open arms. They make it too easy.



TOP PATH



2a - Campfire Connections


When night falls, the cocky extremists will be drunk with overconfidence, gathered around a campfire to celebrate what they believe is imminent victory. This is our window of opportunity.

  • Get {total} Mugs. Here's to a soon accomplished mission!
  • Gather {total} {Ore} to help build powerful units.
  • Use {total} Power-Ups in battle.

Right this minute, our man is taking this opportunity to pump one of the villains for information on the virus and more importantly, the anti-virus.


3a1 - Sleepy Creepy


Gaining vital information on the location of the virus and anti-virus from his new-found campfire friend, our agent has one more trick up his sleeve.

  • Ask for {total} Sedatives to calm your fellow extremist's nerves.
  • Gather {total} {Ore} to power your advanced units.
  • Build {total} Strike Teams to defeat persistent attacks on your empire.

Our agent offered the guard on watch a celebratory drink, first spiking it with a strong sedative. The guard was soon dead to the world.


3a2 - Bed Time Stories


Our agent has determined the location of the anti-virus and is now engaging in conversation with the guard who has been assigned to protect said anti-virus. Let's see if he can chat him up.

  • Collect {total} Soft Pillows. Comfort first.
  • Pillage {total} times to send a message to other extremists.
  • A drunken brawl has broken out. It involves weapons. Fight to stay alive.

His methods were unexpected but the mission is accomplished. Our agent talked the guard to sleep. Must have been a terribly exciting conversation.


4a - Stealing the Spotlight


Success! Our guy pulled off the daring robbery and has returned safely. The clear shift of power because we now have the anti-virus, means that the extremists can no longer threaten us.

  • Get {total} Bubble Wrap Bags to keep the precious Virus and Anti-Virus safe.
  • Destroy {total} Enemy Units in Battle to keep your reputation strong.
  • Accelerate your neighbors' lumber mills {total} times.

Our not-so-bright extremists have nothing to sit on now. Let's just sit back and watch them squirm. But we should also send the virus and anti-virus to our labs for an analysis.


5a - Twist in the Tale


Commander, the virus and anti-virus are currently at the labs. Soon we'll get an analysis of what it really is.

  • Get {total} Lab Analyzers to crack the virus and anti-virus.
  • Earn {total} Black Hearts to help prevent any more extremist threats.
  • Fight {total} Dominance Battles on your way out.

Surprise, surprise! Apparently, both are just a sugar-water solution! I'm dying to say 'I told you so', but I won't. Just remember... I did tell you so.

BOTTOM PATH



2b - Plan to Pulverize


Our agents have given us a lockdown on the enemy camp. We are preparing to launch a full scale attack.

  • Hire {total} Pin Tacks to keep your battle maps up as you plan your attack.
  • Gather {total} Wood to help with your mission on the ground.
  • Gather {total} Oil to power your units.

Your generals are ready and determined to squash the enemy camp and obliterate their leaders, Commander.


3b - Brace for Battle


The enemy camp isn't that large, but those extremists are quite dangerous. We've got to strike fast and hard, before they realize what's going on and have a chance to retaliate.

  • Get {total} Army Bugles to sound the start of battle.
  • Gain {total} Energy through visiting neighbors.
  • Reach Wave {total} in Survival Mode.

We're thinking complete obliteration! Your generals gather the troops they need, for a military briefing.


4b1 - Army Ambush


Our infantry and artillery units are at the ready. They will use every trick they've been taught to sneak up on the enemy camp, and carry out an effective night strike.

  • Get {total} Ambush Pouches to help your men on the job.
  • Deploy {total} Land Units and get rid of these pesky extremists.
  • Win {total} Battle Blitz Fights to obliterate any other enemies you might have.

The enemy camp is soon history and along with it, the virus is destroyed.


4b2 - Air Aggression


You don't want to waste your element of surprise, so we'll take them from the sky. That's right, a surprise air strike!

  • Collect {total} Oxygen Masks to help with the airstrike.
  • Deal {total} damage using Air Units and show them how it's done.
  • Win {total} World Domination fights and prove a very large point.

And one successful strike later, there's nothing left of the enemy camp. Congratulations, Commander.


5b - Blackmail Fail


You've killed two birds with one stone. The enemy has been squashed completely and therefore their threat to contaminate our water supply is also over.

  • Collect {total} Confetti to celebrate our smashing victory!
  • Harvest {total} Wheat to prepare for a huge feast!
  • Deal {total} damage using Land Units to keep security tight.

Victory is ours! Their blackmail attempt is a total failure.
