- Quest #37
- Lasts from June 4, 2012 - July 8, 2012
We've never faced such a problem before. We don't have a shortage of power or water and all our power facilities are in top shape. Something's fishy and we've got to get to the bottom of it.
Even your rural population lives comfortably, they've never lived without power and water for this long.
Quest Hook: Parts of your empire are going without food or water. There's no shortage but somehow, there is. Find out what is happening.
Quest Pop-up: Commander, I've been receiving requests to travel to rural settlements on our outskirts to investigate a water and power shortage problem. Water and power can't go missing mysteriously. I need your help on this one.
1 - The Visit
At my visit to the electricity and water supply boards, they told me that there are absolutely no issues with their supplies. I need to do an investigation of all the water and electricity supply lines.
Keep your hard hat on and look out for anything dodgy.
- Ask for {total} Hard Hats to stay safe while we're at the plants.
- Collect from {total} Houses to fund the investigation.
- Harvest {total} Corn. An alternate power option could become necessary.
Commander, I could find nothing unusual. I'm going to set up a few hidden cameras at the lines and hope to find something.
2 - Strangers in the Night
The footage revealed a truck full of men arriving in the middle of the night. They tampered with the electricity lines. Then they returned several hours later and undid whatever they did.
You've spotted the culprits, let the games begin.
- Collect {total} Canned Food for all those days away from home.
- Gather {total} Wood to keep warm without any electricity.
- Gather {total} Oil to power your units.
Similar footage from the water board showed another group of people tampering with some equipment in the middle of the night. This is the strangest thing I've seen and I can't wait to figure out what is going on here.
3 - Lightning Thieves
We charted their route and are planning a trip to their location with some units and troops. I'm excited. I'm going in with all of you, I refuse to wait in the car.
Remember, your neighbors aren't facing water and power shortages. Be nice to them.
- Collect {total} Sunscreen. It's hot, very hot.
- Speed up Neighbor's houses {total} times to gain support if needed.
- Earn {total} Red Hearts to keep that reputation shiny clean.
At first we could see nothing but after setting up some more cameras, we saw an opening in the ground lead to a huge underground tunnel. They're running a full scale operation underground.
4 - Outnumbered
There's no way of knowing what's going on under the surface and it's not wise to storm the place not knowing what to expect, so we'll cut off the power and wait for them to respond.
Send a message loud and clear. Nobody messes with your people!
- Get {total} Portable Monitors to carry out your surveillance.
- Pillage {total} times. If the hostiles have allies in the city, this will send a message.
- Fight {total} World Domination Battles, in case a member of the DA is involved.
When they finally ran out of patience, the sandy tunnel door opened and an enormous Titan emerged, followed by 10 more. We're outnumbered. We need to head back to base and figure out a plan.
5 - National Emergency
In the meanwhile, the Titans have taken the neighboring towns and villages and are demanding that we return the power and water and double the amount otherwise they will wipe out these towns completely.
The Titans can't be responsible for all this, but someone's controlling them. Find out who.
- Gather {total} Loud Speakers to communicate with the hostiles in a public showdown.
- Deploy {total} Tanks to keep the civilians safe.
- Fight the Titans. They started it.
Commander, I've returned the power and water to them and when I did, I planted bugs on as many of their vehicles as I could so I can find out what's going on underground. Am I good or am I good?
6 - Under the Surface
Commander you're not going to believe this. I found out what's going on under ground. It's a Titan factory. That's right, the Dark Alliance is remotely controlling a set of Titans and they are protecting this operation.
The mass production of Titans is a frightening thought. How would we deal with all of them?
- Collect {total} Iron Barricades to block the entrance to the factory.
- Deal {total} Damage to Sea Units in battle to keep more enemies away.
- Fight the Titan that spots you on the ground.
This is the plan - we're going to block the entrance to the underground factory. Nobody goes in, nobody goes out. Then we're going to cut their power for a week. They'll be too weak to win.
7 - The Final Battle
It looks like our Titans are ready to come out and play. They shot down the barricades in a matter of minutes. It's a hundred percent war now. We should take down the weaker units and deal with the Titans afterwards.
All the weaker units have been destroyed, you've almost won.
- Collect {total} Protective Ear Muffs. All those bombs can't be good for your ears.
- Win {total} WD battles to send the DA a message.
- Fight the Titans and fight hard.
The Titans put up a fight but left immediately after. The Dark Alliance doesn't want to lose what little they have left. I have a feeling it's not over yet. Just wait.
8 - Rebuild, Relapse, Rebuild
Our final task is to restore all power and water supply to the affected areas and provide aid. You also send in a team to investigate whatever little remains of the underground factory.
The Dark Alliance is getting predictable. Of course those Titans were coming back.
- Gather {total} Face Masks to stay safe among all the debris.
- Use {total} Field Repair III's in battle
- Surprise! They're back. Fight the Titans.
The Dark Alliance call it the element of surprise, we call it 'been there, done that'. Now that we're done with the Titans, let's help our people out and rebuild their homes.
Final Rewards
Congratulations! You earned 5x SpecOps UUAV Drone Gunboat!
